A New Endeavor

Welcome to my new project; The Cheese Novice. I'm on a path to learn about cheese and to keep track of all the information I find. I'm not a scientist, or a gourmet, but I am a lifelong cheese lover with a lot of passion and want to provide a reference for other folks who aren't experts.

For me curiosity is at the heart of learning. I hope to share my experiences in all realms of the dairy world, from tasting notes to recipes, history and stories. I want to learn more about the animals that produce our dairy and the way it's made, and most of all I want to eat a lot of cheese!

To be honest I'm not a complete neophyte when it comes to cheese; I've worked on dairies and briefly as a cheese maker, but I'm just starting to acquire what will become a lifetime of knowledge (I hope). The experience I do have has only added fuel to my passion for cheese, and gives me good direction on my mission of learning. 

I hope anyone who reads this will be able to learn with me, and help me learn in turn. If you've ever wondered what cheese to buy, what makes each kind of cheese different, or how to use that nine dollar piece of Gruyere you just bought, then we're in the same place!
